MBChB MRCGP DFFP. Abid has a special interest in child health, minor surgery and is the GP tutor for medical students and foundation year/speciality training doctors.
Dr Richard Teh – Full Time
MBBCh BAO LRCP & SI Dip Tropical Medicine. Born in Selangor, Malaysia and qualified at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland 1996. He trained in various hospitals in the UK before completing GP training in 2002. Before joining North Shore Surgery on the 1st April 2016, he was the Senior partner at South King Street Medical Centre, a Medical officer at Trinity Hospice and a Clinical tutor for Liverpool University. Special interests include dermatology and musculoskeletal medicine.
Dr Michael Taylor – Full Time
MBChB MRCGP Born in Preston, Michael spent much of his younger days pursuing his interests in football and cricket. He graduated from St Marys Catholic College and went on to finish his medical degree at the University of Manchester in 2012. Dr Taylor completed his GP training in Blackpool before joining North Shore Surgery. He is developing his interests in musculoskeletal medicine, dermatology and teaching.
Dr Natalie Salah – Full Time
MBChB MRCGP DFRSH Born in Blackpool and qualified from Leeds University in 2011. Dr Salah then returned to Blackpool to complete GP training before joining North Shore Surgery. She is currently developing her interests in womens health, dermatology and teaching.
Dr Kawaldeep Ajimal – Part Time
MB ChB MRCGP DFSRH, Kawaldeep qualified from the University of Manchester and has a special interest in dermatology and sexual/reproductive health.
North Shore Surgery is a training practice, sometimes we have junior doctors, nurses and pharmacists who need to gain GP experience under supervision.

Previously worked on the medical unit at BVH, then as a practice nurse specialising in diabetes and women’s health, and then worked as a community matron. Completed non-medical prescribing in 2012 and qualified in 2019 as NP, currently completing Masters degree at university of Cumbria. See children over age of 12 and all adults (except pregnant ladies) with wide range of illnesses.

Sr Jan Rogers
(RGN, BSc Hons ANP, NMP) – Jan’s previous working experience includes orthopaedics, pre-operative assessment and Infection Control. Jan has most recently worked at the Same Day Health Centre in Fleetwood. Jan qualified as an ANP and non-medical prescriber in 2010 at the University of Cumbria. Jan can see children over 6 months old and all adults ( except pregnant ladies) who are suffering from a wide range of illnesses and is able to take a history, assess, examine and diagnose a range of conditions and issue a prescription if needed.
Sr Laura Brooks – Lead Nurse
Practice Lead Nurse with a Dip HE in Adult Nursing, a BSC Hons degree and a Post Graduate Diploma as a Community Specialist Practitioner. Also has diplomas in Cytology, Diabetes, COPD, Asthma and Women’s Health. Highly experienced in palliative/end of life care and is involved in the Gold Standards Framework for palliative care within the practice. Has also completed modules in Public Health and promoting Health Behaviour change. Laura is the Lead Nurse and responsible for Managing the Nursing Team. Is a qualified nurse mentor who enjoys supporting learning in practice.
Sr Kiya Hanrahan
Senior Practice Nurse with a BSc Adult Nursing qualification with a District Nursing background. Has diplomas in Asthma, COPD and cytology. Carries out spirometry testing, cytology, Childhood vaccinations and Immunisations. Also has a mentorship qualification and can provide various treatment room duties.
Practice Nurse – Nicola Griffith
Practice Nurse who has worked within a secondary care setting for the past 10 years, specifically working with Cardiology, Haematology and Ophthamology patients. Nicola is able to see patients for a range of chronic health disease reviews as well as providing services for routine vaccinations and immunisations and phlebotomy. Nicola will shortly be undertaking further training to allow her to provide cervical cytology services within the surgery.

Practice Nurse with a BSc in Nursing Practice, a diploma in COPD, a non-medical prescriber qualification and has completed a module on long term conditions. Rachel is very experienced having worked in both the hospital and community setting, with her main focus being respiratory conditions.

Senior Practice Nurse with an Advanced Dip (HE) in Adult Nursing qualification and Diplomas in Diabetes, COPD, Asthma and Cytology. Able to undertake Childhood immunisations, Travel vaccinations and Women’s health clinics as well as various other annual reviews and treatment room duties. Rebecca has been a nurse for nearly 20 years, working mainly within a primary care setting with a background in District Nursing. Rebecca is a Qualified Nurse Mentor who promotes learning in practice.

Health Care Assistant supports the nursing team and undertakes phlebotomy, blood pressure monitoring (including 24hr), ECGs, Cardiovascular risk assessments, influenza vaccinations, pneumonia vaccinations and vitamin B12 injections.
HCA Vicky McDermott
Health Care Assistant supports the nursing team here at the surgery, and also visits housebound patients. Duties include phlebotomy, NHS Health Checks, Blood Pressure monitoring, ECG’s and ear irrigation. Vicky has recently completed the training to carry out Vaccinations including flu and pneumonia.

Health Care Assistant supports the nursing team here at the surgery. Duties include phlebotomy, ECG’s and ear irrigation.
Our clinical pharmacist prescribers work within North Shore Surgery. Their qualifications, training and experience mean they are our experts in medication matters. They are able to deal with medication-related issues, and manage a variety of health conditions. The local CCG determines which medication can be prescribed by the Surgery, and our pharmacists ensure we conform to these rules. Some medication can only be prescribed by specialists for safety reasons. A range of medication for minor ailments can be purchased over the counter. They will advise when treatments have to be bought over the counter or when they require a prescription.

Janine Deakin – Practice Manager
Janine is a highly accomplished healthcare professional with operational experience of practice administration for the past 27 years, 10 of which have been in a managerial role. Janine manages the business aspects of the practice with duties including, but not limited too; human resources, finance, patient safety, premises, equipment and information technology. She supports and liaises with the Doctors and medical professionals to ensure the practice delivers efficient, high quality patient services.
Jayne Erwin – Assistant Practice Manager
Jayne is from a primary care background, working in GP practices for over 10 years. Jayne supports and works alongside the Practice Manager to ensure the care patients receive is of the best quality. Jayne is responsible for patient queries and concerns regarding anything non-clinical, ensuring the experience received is a positive one.
Louise Collinge – Administration Supervisor
Louise has worked at North Shore Surgery for over 10 years and is a proficient administrator. Louise overseas all areas of the admin department and manages a team of seven.
Charlotte Collins – Reception Supervisor
Charlotte has a customer facing background. Working at the surgery for the past 5 years she manages the practices 10 receptionists ensuring a positive patient experience.
Rachel Thirlwall-Frith – Operational Support Officer
Rachel has worked in primary care for over 10 years, working through various positions in both admin and reception. Rachel supports staff members with the day-to-day running of equipment and any IT issues that may arise. She also supports the clinicians and management team in an administrative capacity.
